Check out our round-up of the best 5 day trips on offer in Brisbane.

Moreton Island

Keen on snorkeling? Look no further than Moreton Island. Hop on board the MICAT ferry, which conveniently drops visitors off at Moreton’s famous shipwrecks. Alternatively, boating enthusiasts can head over via Bribie Island. Be sure to keep your eye out for dolphins on the way over – they’re known for making an appearance!

At Moreton, visitors can snorkel around the shipwrecks, or explore the island’s sand dunes with tobogganing. Afterwards, treat yourself to a lunch of fish and chips or a burger at the Tangalooma Island Resort’s Beach Cafe, which overlooks the ocean.

O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards | Canungra

If you’re looking for a weekend escape that’s both boozy and wholesome, O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards is for you. Enjoy tasting O’Reilly’s handcrafted wine, and perhaps pair it with one of their gourmet picnic baskets. After wine and nibbles, head to the Mountview Alpaca Farm, located within the O’Reilly’s property. Here you can feed and walk an adorable alpaca through their stunning vineyard grounds, or even book an alpaca picnic. Cute!

Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve | Maleny

Described as ‘the natural jewel of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’, the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve comprises 55 hectares of subtropical rainforest overlooking the Glass House Mountains landscape. You’ll explore the vast array of plant and animal life within this vibrant rainforest. With over 300 plant species, 141 bird species, and a diverse range of reptiles and amphibians, the Mary Cairncross day trip is a treat for the whole family to enjoy.

Located 20 minutes north of Maleny, Montville brings visitors delicious foodie delights, cultural wonders and stunning views. Explore the impressive art galleries and studios, which showcase the work of talented local artists. Satisfy your sweet tooth at ‘Fudgyboombahs’, Montville’s Main Street confectioner. With fudge flavours including butterscotch vanilla, butter candy macadamias and rocky road fudge, we guarantee you’ll be taking some for the ride home.

If you’re looking to make the most of a beach trip, Noosa is the perfect choice. After a morning surf, head over to Noosa National Park for the Hell’s Gates Hike. This gentle hike is suitable for all ages and showcases incredible elevated beach views. On your way up to the lookout, take a dip at one of the several beach access points, such as Little Cove, Boiling Pot or Tea Tree.
