The Sunshine State! Call us biased, but we think it’s the most beautiful place to live in Australia. Scattered with amazing coastal cities, an average of 250+ days a year of sunny skies and seemingly endless kilometres of beach, Queensland is a utopia for those with wanderlust.
When each place is as amazing as the next, it can be hard to visit them all. You may have a favourite travel destination, but hopefully after reading this, you consider checking out some of the state’s other highlights.
Here are some of our favourite places to visit in Queensland!
Beach Relaxation With A Noosa Getaway
Life in Noosa revolves around the water. No matter if you choose a day by the beach or canoeing through the Noosa River, you’re going to want to pack your swimsuit.
Each Sunday morning from 7am to 12pm, the Noosa Farmers Market runs and is a fantastic experience for locals and visitors. Shop for fresh produce, homemade jams, sauces, chutneys and locally grown vegetables, fruits, plants and flowers.
Noosa is one of Australia’s most popular travel destinations and has plenty of unique cafes, restaurants and boutiques to entertain tourists from far and wide.
Adventure Seeking At The Great Barrier Reef In The Whitsundays
If you dream of an island-hopping adventure, few experiences rival the grand Whitsundays. A trip to this North-Queensland paradise will put you right in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef!
The Whitsunday archipelago encompasses 74 tropical islands along the way to the Great Barrier Reef. The islands are ripe with adventure opportunities and house luxury restaurants and resorts. All but five of these islands have been declared national parks.
The resorts sprinkled on Hayman Island, Daydream Island, Long Island and Hamilton Island are world-renowned for their tropical hospitality. There’s plenty to do on the mainland too at Airlie Beach, which is a massively popular tourist destination on its own.
A Night Out In Brisbane City
When you live in a city, you never get to do the touristy things. Brisbane city is just in our backyard and there is so much to do. It’s perfect for couples or a family weekend, without being too far from home.
Book a late-night art class, and take a tour of the nearby bars and restaurants. The CBD is home to some of the best fine dining in all of Queensland. We recommend Death and Taxes as a unique cocktail bar in the CBD. For adventure seekers, you can rock-climb up Kangaroo Point. The city is your oyster, and you can find things to do all night. Make a weekend of it, book a hotel and see the city you live in like never before.
Secluded Experiences In The Capricorn Region
Bulls, beaches and beef! The Capricorn region is a fantastic country experience that is still positioned in a stunning coastal spot. The Capricorn region offers the coastal lifestyle so many holidaymakers are looking for, but is more secluded than some other popular destinations.
Rockhampton is the cattle capital of Australia and has plenty of great places to grab a steak. Rodeo is also a massive way of life in this semi-rural town. If you head at the right time, you could catch the Capricorn Food and Wine Festival which runs every summer. For year-round attractions, explore the famous Capricorn Caves or trek through the Carnarvon National Park.
Coastal Getaway In Stunning Cairns & Ancient Daintree Rainforest
Jet north and spend your coastal getaway in the magnificent Cairns region. For many Aussies, Cairns is often overlooked because of how far north it is. But trust us, between the famous Trinity Bay, Palm Cove and Port Douglas, there are few better coastal cities to explore.
Go further north and explore the Daintree Rainforest. There are several ways to trek through the ancient rainforest ranging from hikes, tours on amphibious vehicles and horseback. If you want to enjoy nature but with less travel time, the secluded Crystal Cascades is a fantastic place to take a dip; and it’s only 20 minutes from the city centre.
While you’re living it up on your holiday, you can make sure your pets are too. Samford Pet Resort is the best place for your pet to stay while you take a break! We offer award-winning pet accommodation for cats, dogs, birds and rodents. Don’t let your pet feel like they’re missing out, drop them off with us so you both can have a holiday.
