The Samford Pet Resort, previously Samford Boarding Kennels and Cattery was established in 1985, by Garth and Karen De Bruin whose aim it was to provide a home-away from-home for Brisbane's dog and cat population.

Garth and Karen established the facility after many years of showing, breeding and obedience training of Samoyeds, Newfoundlands and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Garth and Karen saw a need for a Professional Pet Resort to provide facilities above and beyond the normal offing.

Garth and Karen combined boast over 60 year’s direct experience in the industry, so you can be assured that your pets are well cared for and in professional hands.

So, the Samford Pet Resort is set on 40 picturesque acres overlooking the Samford Valley (just 21km from Brisbane's CBD) they set out to create the unique Samford Pet Resort.

In Oct 2000 they opened their five star Dog Boutique Suites, with own room TV, Air-conditioned, and bed, chairs and pillows, and three years later opened the Pussy Villas, for the very spoilt cats, own room, TV, Large scratching poles, beds air-conditioned and own outside Garden Atrium.

With their son Blake De Bruin (Director) bringing new concepts and ideas in management and IT has seen the Business win The Quest Business Achiever Awards for 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and becoming a Quest Hall Of Fame winner plus for 2007, 2008, 2009 has won the PIA (Pet Industry Association) Dogs Life Magazine Best Boarding Facility in Australia.

Most recently in Oct 2009 Garth & Karen De Bruin set out to expand their resorts to the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula opening the Northshore Pet Resort which is now Managed by their daughter and son in-law Kylie & Colin Mackay.

They are continually improving their services and Accommodation to meet the needs of their customers, and strive to provide a safe and caring environment for the Pets in their care.

As founding members of the Association of Pet Boarding and Grooming (Qld) Inc, Garth and Karen take pride in upholding the Association's code of ethics. Samford Boarding Kennels are also accredited members of the PIAA (Pet Industry Association of Australia) and members of the ABKA (American Boarding Kennel Association).

Booking Fee
A booking fee is required for each pet booked. This is not refundable on cancellation or transferable but is deducted at the time of account settlement.All refunds will have an an administration fee of $25 deducted. All Fees are subject to change without notice.
